Kerala PSC to Conduct Descriptive Exams from 2018

Two Tier System for Graduate Level PSC Exams 

Two-tier system consisting of a qualifying examination and a final examination including an aptitude test for posts needing professional skills will be enacted from July, 2018.

PSC will conduct a preliminary examination and prepare a shortlist and conduct the final selection examinations for those included in the shortlist.

PSC would do away with the present system of conducting different examinations for recruiting candidates for various posts in various departments with the same salary scale and qualifications.  One examination will be conducted for all these posts.

The jobs would be divided into many levels, like posts meant for SSLC-failed and passed candidates,  and those who have passed higher secondary, graduation, post-graduation, and professional courses.

Preliminary Examination 

  • Objective type
  • Max. marks : 100
  • Cut off         : 40 - 50

Main Examination

  • Descriptive type
  • Max. marks : 100

Aptitude Test

  • For posts that require professional skills.
The examinations for the following posts and so on will be held in two tier system.
  • Secretariat Assistant
  • University Assistant
  • Company/Board/Corporation Assistant
  •  Local Fund Audit Assistant
  • Legal Assistant
  • Food Safety Officer
  • Assistant Public Prosecuter
