National Flag


The Tricolour National Flag was adopted on 22nd January 1947.
Designer: Pingali Venkaiah
Colours: Suffron, White and Green
In centre of white colour, Ashoka Chakra is inscribed.
Colour of Ashoka Chakra is naval blue.
Only institution authorised to manufacture and supply national flag of India – Karnataka Khadi Gramodyoga Samyuktha Sangha (Hubli, Karnataka)
The tallest national flag in India is situated at Attari (Punjab).
The Flag Code in India was adopted on 26th January 2002.
Flag Code was amended in 2005.

National Emblem


National Emblem of India, the Lion Capital was adopted on 26th January 1950 from Lion Capital of Ashoka (Saranath).
